Frequently asked questions
How do I change my nusach?
Settings (gear icon) → Nusach → pick from the list (Ashkenaz, Sefarad). The change applies immediately to the prayer order.
My zmanim don't look accurate. Why?
Zmanim are computed from the location and calculation method you configured. Check Settings → Location (you can pick a city manually instead of using GPS) and Settings → Calculation Method (Gra or Magen Avraham). If both are correct and the times still look off, email us with your exact location and the time you saw, and we'll investigate.
Notifications aren't arriving on time
Three places to check:
- Inside the app: Settings → Notifications - make sure the specific notification that didn't arrive is turned on.
- In phone settings: Settings → Notifications → Mahayom - confirm permission is granted, and the style (Lock Screen, Banners, Sound) is set to what you want.
- Do Not Disturb or Focus: make sure they aren't blocking the app.
If everything looks right and notifications still don't arrive, email us with the details.
The widget shows "Open app to set up"
This usually happens on first install, before the app has finished handing data to the widget. Open the app, wait for the dashboard to render briefly, then close it. The widget should refresh within a minute. If the message persists, email us and we'll look into it.
How do I change the language?
Settings → Language → tap the other language card. The app will restart automatically to switch between RTL (Hebrew) and LTR (English) direction.
I found a halachic mistake or something missing
Saw a wrong time, a ruling that doesn't match your nusach, or a reminder that's missing? Email us at support@mahayom.com with a screenshot, your location and nusach, and what you expected. We'll review with our rav and fix it.
I found a mistake in a mikvah listing or a mikveh is missing
Email us at support@mahayom.com with the mikvah's name and city, and tell us what to correct - a phone number that changed, an updated address, or hours that aren't right. If a mikveh is missing from our list, send us the name, address, type (women, men, vessels), and exact location if you have it. We'll add it.
Reporting a bug
Found a bug? Email us with: device model, iOS/Android version, what you did, and what you expected to happen. A screenshot is even better. For mikvah listing corrections or additions, see the question above.
